EnerTribe supports hundreds of tribes throughout our indigenous communities in their efforts to bring equitable broadband to our lands. Obtaining funding is often a roadblock to achieving this goal. In response to the May 2021 announcement of the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) Broadband Infrastructure Grant Program Notice of Funding, we would like to encourage federally recognized tribal governments to apply for the Tribal Broadband Connectivity Program.

The Tribal Broadband Connectivity Program is a $980 million broadband funding opportunity. Federally recognized tribes are eligible to receive $500,000 or more depending upon the need illustrated in the application. All applications submitted must be submitted electronically or postmarked no later than 11:59 pm PDT on September 1, 2021.

EnerTribe is a Native American and Woman-owned consulting firm that specializes in the planning, funding, and building of telecommunications, infrastructure projects, and other economic development initiatives. Our mission is to provide an array of audiences including tribal governments, tribal enterprises, nonprofit and for-profit companies, providers, and government agencies with critical services.

EnerTribe CEO Forest James says, “This past year has shown the dire need for broadband within our communities and while painful, it has highlighted the need for continued investment into broadband infrastructure. If you are being approached by providers but are not sure how to proceed if you lack public/private partnerships or engineering support to apply for funding, there is still a little time to participate in the NTIA Broadband Infrastructure and Adoption opportunity, If you need an engineering and consulting firm, or simply need advice please reach out!”

We strongly encourage tribes to apply. Please reach out to our team at EnerTribe for assistance or more information: info@enertribe.com or (971) 319-3372.
